Fractured Cheek Bones

Suffering any kind of blow to the head can result in a fractured cheek bone or bones as it is all too easy for these delicate bones to be damaged. Road traffic accidents, sports injuries, slips trips and falls and accidents at work can all cause fractured cheek bones, either in accidents where there was no other personal injury or in more serious accidents where there were multiple injuries.

Fractures of cheek bones vary in their severity. It is possible to fracture a cheekbone in such a way that is causes pain and needs medical treatment, however no surgery is required to mend the fracture - this happens naturally over time. Having a minor sports injury or fall may incur such a fracture, one that has complete recovery. In these instances, the personal injury compensation awarded will be lower. A simple fracture of the cheekbone may need some reconstructive surgery but again, there is usually a complete recovery and very little cosmetic damage in the long-term. Compensation for simple fractures would be a little higher to take into account the surgery. Finally, serious fractures that need more intense or repeated surgery and that led to long-term damage such as parasthesia in the cheek/s or lips and any disfigurement would result in a higher level of personal injury compensation.
